2016 College Kids Ambassador Award

During the Office of Financial Empowerment’s First Anniversary celebration on August 18, 2016, we honored the following recipients with the 2016 College Kids Ambassador Award:

1st Financial Federal Credit Union

Center for Social Development

Clark-Fox Family Foundation 

The College Kids Ambassador Award is presented annually to up to three honorees in recognition of outstanding contributions to the following categories: societal impact, service to youth and families, leadership in asset building and financial capability, and promotion of safe and affordable financial products.

Four categories:

1.     Societal impact: In the areas of advocacy, communication, outreach, policy, and public service, these experts have advanced the role, understanding, and recognition of financial literacy in the St. Louis region.

2.     Service to youth and families: These experts have significantly aided the work of financial literacy organizations, government agencies, and nongovernmental organizations in supporting the economic and social development of youth and families in the St. Louis region.

3.     Leadership in asset building and financial capability: By effectively fostering community-based collaboration, these experts facilitate innovative projects and programs that could not be accomplished in individually.

4.     Promotion of safe and affordable financial products: These experts have enriched the lives of low-to-moderate income individuals and families through promoting financial education, increasing participation in financial empowerment programs, and creating and fostering collaborative and innovative programs for formal and informal financial education.

Established in 2016, the College Kids Ambassador Award will honor individuals and organizations whose achievements extend beyond those recognized by traditional financial services awards. The award furthers the Office of Financial Empowerment’s strategic goals to promote collaboration and innovation, inform society about financial education and wealth accumulation, and build the financial capability of all our citizens.
